L. Mattson Appointed SHARE Director
As head of Sexual Health, Advocacy & Relationship Education, Mattson advocates for holistic health and student support.
Please welcome L. Mattson (they/them), our new director of Sexual Health, Advocacy & Relationship Education (SHARE). Mattson started in their role on September 25 and brings expertise and commitment in holistic care to the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ community.
Coming from St. Louis, Missouri, Mattson has a rich educational background, including bachelor’s degrees in dance and psychology. They recently earned a master's degree in social work from Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, specializing in violence and injury prevention with an emphasis in sexual health education. They look at the influence of social systems and norms on our well-being through the lens of sexual health and social justice.
Mattson also has experience with the Relationship Sexual Violence Prevention Center at Washington University and plans to continue this work at ºìÌÒÊÓƵ. To further enhance their ability to support and advocate for students, as part of their onboarding Mattson underwent certification as a confidential advocate through the Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force.
