Jean Saliman ’53

Jean was born in Denver, Colorado, and attended ºìÌÒÊÓƵ before graduating from Washington University in St. Louis. A loving mother, she was also a devoted teacher of the hearing impaired and a champion for her students, both in and out of the classroom. Her Jewish faith was important to her, and she had a passion for social justice for those who are vulnerable and voiceless. Jean was a founding member of the National Organization for Women chapter in Tucson and was active in the sanctuary movement. She had an intense interest in the world, loved nature and gardening, and was avidly interested in politics. She was also a longtime member of an Alzheimer’s caregivers group. Jean is survived by her children, Shanna, Sarra, Joshua, and Aaron.
