Juliet Forden Corwin ’30

Juliet Forden Corwin ’30, February 1, 1997, in Albany, Oregon, where she had lived for the past five years. She attended ºìÌÒÊÓƵ for two years and then married George Corwin ’29. They lived in several towns in Oregon during George's career as a superintendent of schools. For most of her life, Juliet was a homemaker, raising four children and participating actively in the communities where they lived. She also worked for several years as an office assistant. She was active on several library boards and served as president of the Oregon Library Association Trustee Section. She also served on committees of the American Library Trustee Association, and she presented workshops for library boards throughout Oregon. In 1973, she was made honorary life member of the Oregon Library Association. In 1970, the couple retired to Salem, and in 1983 she was named Key Citizen by the Salem City Council. She is survived by two sons, two daughters, a sister, nine grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. George died in 1986.
