STEM OPT Extension for International Students
All Environmental Studies majors (CIP 03.0103) enjoy STEM designation by US Citizenship and Immigration Services, reflecting the scientific content of our major. This means that if you are an international student who graduates with a major in Environmental Studies, you may apply for up to 36 months of optional practical training (OPT). Experience has shown us that this change can make a big difference in the ability of international students to secure employment in the U.S. after graduation. For more information, see the Post-Graduation Options page from International Student Services or contact iss@reed.edu.General Resources

The ES Program has a small amount of discretionary funding available to sponsor unique opportunities for students not possible to fund via other means (e.g., Opportunity Grants, Initiative Grants, home department funds). Please ask any member of the ES Committee for more information.
